Leader of the Opposition formally commenced duties at the Opposition leaders office this morning.

After a period of four years the country now has an opposition that will represent and address the grievances of all of Sri Lanka.

Of the major issues the country faces currently, we are focused on the agricultural sector and the economy that has taken a downward trend in the recent past. We are also concerned about the constitutional reforms.

We will closely scrutinize the conduct of the government and will constructively criticize its work. The country finally has a legitimate opposition who will now begin functioning as an opposition should.
